Taraji P. Henson’s 3D Chrome Swirl Nails Stole the Spotlight at the 2025 BET Awards

Taraji P. Henson brought high drama and even higher glam to the 2025 BET Awards—not just with her show-stopping performance, but with an equally captivating manicure that’s quickly becoming the talk of summer nail trends.

While fans were mesmerized by Henson’s breathtaking entrance—floating 20 feet above the stage, holding a flaming bouquet during her opening monologue—many missed the exquisite detail hidden in that very bouquet: her stunning nail set, crafted by celebrity nail artist Temeka Jackson.

The look? A flawless combination of elegance and edge. Henson’s nails featured a crisp, pearly white base adorned with swirling metallic silver designs that gave the illusion of frozen movement. The textured, 3D-style swirls shimmered under the lights, making each fingertip a miniature work of art.

Temeka Jackson, whose client roster includes stars like Jennifer Hudson, Quinta Brunson, and Saweetie, called the set a "nail slay," and that’s no exaggeration. She used Après Nail products to bring the vision to life, starting with Gel-X Tips shaped into a dramatic stiletto. The base color was “Spring Sigh,” a soft ballet pink, which was layered and cured under LED light. Jackson then applied a matte topcoat before hand-painting the silver swirls using a fine liner brush and 4D gel polish.

To achieve the chrome effect, she added silver pigment to the raised swirls and sealed the entire design with Après Nail's Non-Wipe Glossy Topcoat, setting the look with a final cure under LED light. The result? A luxurious, futuristic manicure that perfectly balanced cool-toned shimmer with sculptural sophistication.

This style is more than just visually stunning—it also taps into one of summer’s biggest nail trends: metallic detailing. From subtle chrome accents to bold silver artwork, metallic embellishments are having a moment. Megan Fox, for example, recently made headlines with silver lettering on her nails to promote her book Pretty Boys Are Poisonous.

Want to try it yourself? Whether you opt for a pro nail artist or an at-home experiment, incorporating silver swirls or blobs onto a neutral base is a fun and accessible way to elevate your manicure. And thanks to Henson’s latest look, inspiration is only a swirl away.
