Thunder Bay, Ontario — A well-established organization located at 105 N May Street, Thunder Bay, ON P7C 3N9 is currently seeking a qualified and motivated individual to join their team as a full-time Administrative Assistant. This permanent employment opportunity offers a competitive hourly wage of $27.00, with a standard 35-hour work week. The position requires on-site attendance and is scheduled to start as soon as possible.


Position Overview

The Administrative Assistant will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of the office. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing clerical and administrative support to staff and clients, maintaining organized filing systems, and managing office communications.


Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule and confirm appointments with clients and internal staff
  • Answer telephone calls and relay messages in a professional and timely manner
  • Respond to electronic inquiries via email and other digital platforms
  • Greet visitors and direct them to the appropriate departments or personnel
  • Order office supplies and manage inventory levels
  • Set up and maintain both manual and computerized information filing systems
  • Type and proofread a variety of documents including correspondence, forms, and reports


Required Skills and Experience

  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate required
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years in a similar administrative or office support role
  • Computer & Technology Knowledge:
  1. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)

  2. Familiarity with Google Docs and Windows operating systems

Specializations:

  • Preparation and formatting of correspondence, reports, invoices, charts, tables, and other office documents


Work Environment

This position is strictly on-site with no option for remote work. The successful applicant will work in a professional office setting, interacting regularly with team members and visitors. A courteous and detail-oriented demeanor is essential.
