The Jinn of the Cremation Ground | Real Horror Story | Paranormal Podcast

Welcome, dear readers.

The person who sent us today's incident is Tahmid.

Tahmid is from Teligati village in Teligati Union of Morelgoanj Upazila, Bagerhat.

It had been quite some time since Tahmid last sent us a story. Tahmid is an imam and khatib at a mosque, and he is extremely careful when it comes to sharing true paranormal incidents.

He often says,

“I don't want to send any story that could make me accountable for it in the hereafter.”

That is the kind of caution Tahmid maintains when collecting and sharing these accounts.

And, dear listeners, it is through people like Tahmid—and through all of you—that we continue to receive these alleged true frightening experiences from different parts of Bangladesh.

Tahmid collected this particular story from a man named Zahid Sheikh.

Zahid's home is in Bhabanpara village of Binodpur Union, Mohammadpur Upazila, Magura.

He is currently living abroad, somewhere near Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

The incident was actually experienced by a man from Zahid's own area named Abul Hashem, whom Zahid respectfully calls “Hashem Dada.”

Zahid heard the story directly from Hashem Dada and later shared it with Tahmid.

Hashem Dada works in agriculture and also catches fish.

Fishing is something he is particularly passionate about.

And when it comes to fishing at night, he is considered extremely experienced.

That doesn't mean he only fishes at night. He fishes during the day as well, depending on the circumstances and whenever he gets the opportunity.

There is a river called the Nabaganga River very close to his home.

It takes only about two minutes to walk from his house to the river.

There is also a small road that runs through the village toward the market.

Near the market, that road splits into two directions.

The main road generally runs north to south, while another road branches westward near the market.

After walking a short distance along that road, another narrow path branches toward the south, leading toward the river and a cremation ground.

So, that was the basic geography of the area.

Now let's come to the actual incident.

The incident happened sometime during the month of Ashar in 2010, during the monsoon season.

At that time, there were plenty of fish in the river.

One night, Hashem Dada took his boat, a light, a spear, and his other fishing equipment and went out onto the river.

He headed toward the cremation ground.

There were plenty of fish in that area at the time.

Because the area had a lot of bushes and vegetation, large fish would often hide there.

So Hashem Dada decided to go there first.

It was approximately 10:00 p.m.

As he traveled along the river, he caught small fish such as sarputi, taki, and other native species.

At one point, he reached the area beside the cremation ground.

And then he saw something exciting.

A huge gajar fish was floating in the water.

Hashem Dada was delighted.

He immediately began moving toward it.

But suddenly, the fish disappeared beneath the water.

Hashem Dada desperately searched for it.

He looked around in every direction.

Five minutes passed.

Then ten.

Then fifteen minutes.

But he couldn't find the fish anywhere.

And then—

from the direction of the cremation ground—

he suddenly heard a terrifying, booming laugh.

“Ho! Ho! Ho! Ho!”

It was a loud, eerie laugh that seemed to echo through the darkness.

Hashem Dada looked toward the cremation ground.

And what he saw was horrifying.

A gigantic black female-like figure, approximately 15 to 20 feet tall, was slowly moving toward him.

Now, it is important to mention something about Hashem Dada.

He was known to be an extremely brave man.

He had allegedly encountered several frightening and unexplained incidents before.

So instead of running away, he looked at the figure and shouted,

“Hey, you ugly woman! Who do you think you are? Are you trying to frighten me?

“This isn't even the first ghost I've ever seen.

“Stop trying to scare me.

“And if you come any closer, I'll beat you with a branch from a kachha tree and drive you away from here.

“You haven't been hit with a kachha branch before, have you?

“Today, you'll get one from me.

“Now get out of here!”

As soon as he said this, the dark figure responded.

“Oh, really?

“What did you say?

“You're going to beat me with a rotten tree branch?

“You certainly have a lot of courage.

“Come closer.

“Come here.”

Instead of retreating, Hashem Dada began moving toward the figure.

And the figure continued moving toward him as well.

Then suddenly—

everything around them became completely dark.

Just moments earlier, he could still see his surroundings.

But now it seemed as though the entire area had been swallowed by pitch-black darkness.

At that exact moment, Hashem Dada felt something strange.

His boat seemed to rise out of the water.

It was as though an invisible force had lifted the entire boat into the air.

Then—

THUD!

The boat crashed back onto the surface of the river.

The impact caused Hashem Dada to lose his balance and fall into the water.

And that was when something even more terrifying happened.

He felt an enormous hand grab him by the neck.

The hand was unnaturally large.

The force pushed his head beneath the water.

He was held underwater until he felt as though all the air had been squeezed out of his lungs.

Just when he thought he was about to lose consciousness completely, the force pulled him back above the water.

He took a few desperate breaths.

Then—

he was pushed underwater again.

Again, he felt as though his life was slipping away.

And once again, just before he completely lost his breath, he was lifted back above the water.

The black figure then spoke.

“What happened to all your courage?

“Weren't you going to beat me with a kachha branch?

“Where has all that courage gone now?

“I'm drowning you with one hand.

“Go ahead.

“Try to hit me now.

“Where's that branch you were talking about?”

After saying this, the entity pulled Hashem Dada out of the water and hurled him toward the land.

He was thrown with such force that he crashed onto the ground like a stone.

After that—

Hashem Dada remembered nothing.

When he finally regained consciousness, he found a man named Sohrab standing beside him.

Even then, Hashem Dada was still lying on the ground.

The distant sound of the Fajr adhan could be heard coming from the mosque loudspeakers.

Sohrab was also a fisherman.

Although his name was Sohrab, people in the local area commonly pronounced it as “Surab.”

He had placed his fishing net in that area near the cremation ground earlier in the evening.

He normally did not come there until around the time of the Fajr prayer.

That morning, just before Fajr, he left home and came toward the river.

And that's when he found Hashem Dada unconscious on the ground.

Sohrab splashed water onto his face.

Eventually, Hashem Dada regained consciousness.

Sohrab helped him get up and took him home.

Once Hashem Dada was back home, he told his family what had happened.

Because he had been thrown such a long distance and had crashed onto the ground with tremendous force, he was suffering severe pain throughout his body.

The pain in his lower back was particularly intense.

He had difficulty walking and moving around.

His family eventually took him to a local imam, who performed ruqyah and recited prayers over him.

He also suffered from fever for several days.

The physical pain, however, lasted much longer.

Despite everything, after about two months, Hashem Dada began fishing again.

After all, he had to work to earn a living.

But there was one major change.

He no longer went fishing alone at night.

He always took someone with him.

One night, he went out fishing with a man named Miraj Mia.

The two of them decided to head toward the cremation ground.

Hashem Dada was still a very courageous man.

He had experienced frightening incidents many times before.

Even after what had happened to him, he was willing to go back because there were more fish in that area.

And this time, he wasn't alone.

There were two of them.

So they began heading toward the cremation ground.

When they got close, they noticed something strange.

At the main cremation area, where funeral pyres were usually prepared, they saw a huge fire burning intensely.

They assumed that someone must have died and that a body was being cremated.

Thinking that there might be relatives or other people there, they began moving closer.

But as they approached, something didn't make sense.

There was nobody around.

From a distance, it had looked as though there were people nearby.

Normally, if a funeral pyre is burning and people are standing around it, the firelight would fall on their bodies.

You would be able to see them.

But there was absolutely no one there.

At that point, both Hashem Dada and Miraj Mia realized that something was wrong.

Miraj Mia became frightened.

He said,

“Hashem, let's leave. Let's go.

“I don't like this.

“We might get into trouble again.”

But Hashem Dada wasn't ready to leave.

He said,

“Wait.

“Let's see how long this fire continues burning.”

Miraj Mia suggested,

“Don't go directly toward it.

“Let's stand beside the banana grove, behind one of the banana trees, and quietly watch what happens.”

So the two men moved beside the banana grove and watched from a distance.

At that time, Hashem Dada took a bidi from his packet and began smoking.

Then they saw something extraordinary.

Suddenly—

WHOOSH!

The fire went out.

Instantly.

And from where the fire had been burning, a black figure emerged.

At first, its back was turned toward them.

Then the figure slowly rotated its entire body toward Hashem Dada and Miraj Mia.

And then it spoke.

“Hashem!

“So being drowned in the water wasn't enough to teach you a lesson?

“You've come back here again?

“I made a mistake by not killing you that day.

“You clearly won't learn.

“Wait.

“Let me show you what I can do.”

Hashem Dada noticed something interesting.

The black figure came closer—

but then stopped when it reached a certain distance from him.

Meanwhile, Miraj Mia was terrified.

He wanted to run toward their boat.

But Hashem Dada immediately warned him,

“Don't you dare leave.

“Stay here with me.”

Miraj Mia was trembling with fear.

Yet despite what he was seeing, he stayed beside Hashem Dada.

Then the black figure said,

“How long are you going to smoke that bidi?

“Finish it.

“Then I'll show you what I can do.”

Hashem Dada immediately understood that he couldn't allow the bidi to end.

Fortunately, his packet was almost new.

There were plenty of bidis inside.

So he smoked one after another.

The two men had arrived there with approximately an hour remaining before the Fajr adhan.

Hashem Dada kept smoking.

One bidi.

Then another.

Then another.

He continued until, eventually, the Fajr adhan began to echo through the area.

As soon as the adhan started, the black figure said,

“Fine.

“I won't do anything to you tonight.

“But I'll find you another day.

“And then we'll see how you escape from me.”

After that, the figure disappeared.

Hashem Dada and Miraj Mia finally left the area.

They didn't catch many more fish that night.

After all, once they reached the cremation ground, they had become trapped in that terrifying encounter.

The following day, the two men went together to see a traditional healer named Sadek Mia.

Sadek Mia was primarily a farmer, but he also practiced as a local healer.

Hashem Dada told him the entire story.

Sadek Mia listened carefully and then said,

“Give me two days.

“Let me see if I can find out what actually happened.”

Two days later, Sadek Mia himself came to Hashem Dada's house.

After arriving, he explained what he believed had happened.

According to Sadek Mia, there was a large pakur tree near the cremation ground.

And, according to him, a female jinn had been living there for a very long time.

However, he said that she generally did not harm people.

Sadek Mia told Hashem Dada,

“If she had actually wanted to kill you, especially after the insulting things you said to her, you would never have survived.

“She could have killed you right there.

“You should never have gone back there.

“You must never go there again.”

He then said that Hashem Dada did not appear to have suffered any permanent serious harm and that he would perform some ruqyah for him.

Sadek Mia also explained the first incident.

According to him, when Hashem Dada first saw the giant gajar fish, the entity was using the appearance of a fish to frighten him.

The reason, he said, was that the entity did not like people coming into that area at night.

But Hashem Dada wasn't frightened.

Instead, he insulted the entity and even threatened to beat it with a branch.

So, according to Sadek Mia, the entity then showed him a small portion of its power.

He explained that if it had used its full power, Hashem Dada would not have survived.

But returning to the same place a second time was an even bigger mistake.

The entity realized that Hashem Dada had come back again.

So it appeared before him in its own form.

However, because there was fire nearby, it did not attack them directly.

That did not mean it was incapable of causing harm.

According to Sadek Mia, it simply chose not to.

After explaining all of this, Sadek Mia performed ruqyah over Hashem Dada.

And after that, no further incident was reported.

But there is another interesting detail about Hashem Dada.

He also catches snakes.

Apparently, he has experienced another strange incident related to snake catching.

Zahid, who originally shared this story with Tahmid, has said that he will send us a photograph of Hashem Dada with his permission.

He also said that if he is able to collect the snake-catching incident directly from Hashem Dada, he will send that story to us as well.

Dear listeners, just think about the kind of courage this man had.

A terrifying entity was approaching him—

and he was walking toward it too.

In most paranormal encounters, people either freeze in fear or turn around and run.

But Hashem Dada did the exact opposite.

He even challenged the entity, telling it that he would beat it with a tree branch.

And yet, despite everything, the entity did not kill him.

It could have.

But it didn't.

Perhaps, by the infinite mercy of Allah, Hashem Dada's time had not yet come.

Perhaps the entity itself also chose not to take his life.

Whatever the explanation may be, this is certainly not the kind of courage anyone should deliberately demonstrate.

A person can find themselves in serious danger at any moment.

And when someone speaks arrogantly or disrespectfully in front of an unknown entity, it may provoke anger.

Even among human beings, insulting someone can create resentment.

And according to traditional beliefs, jinn are often described as beings who can be extremely proud, stubborn, and arrogant.

So speaking to them in such a challenging and insulting manner could potentially make a frightening situation even more dangerous.

That was the story of Hashem Dada and the mysterious entity of the cremation ground.

A special thanks to Tahmid for sending us this incident.

And our sincere thanks to Zahid for helping Tahmid collect the story.

We hope, Insha'Allah, to receive many more true and unexplained experiences from all of you.

Thank you for listening.
