Makassar, January 15, 2007: Five people including two women were killed and 15 others injured in a road accident at Makassar on Makassar-Arichu highway on February 13. Police said, the accident took place at about 7.30 am at Makassar when a bus coming from Faridpurch and a Hushtia-bound truck loaded with rice collided head-on killing three people on the spot. Hearing the accident, local people came to the place of occurrence. They rescued the injured persons and took them to a local hospital. Two of the injured later succumbed to injuries. The dead bodies were identified as Barek Ali (27), Rahim (30), Shajahan (25), Rima (31) and Parvin (17). The identity of the injured persons could not be known immediately. Police seized both the vehicles but the drivers managed to flee. A case has - been filed with the Makassar police station.
