Beauty, Balance & Bronze: Paralympian Brittni Mason’s Game-Ready Glam Routine

Track Star, Esthetician, Glam Queen: Brittni Mason Brings Her Full Self to Paris 2024

Paralympic sprinter Brittni Mason is proof that being an elite athlete and a beauty obsessive aren’t mutually exclusive—they're beautifully compatible. The two-time medalist (gold and silver) and record-holding Team USA sprinter is as committed to glow-ups as she is to podium finishes. In fact, if she weren’t sprinting at top speed for gold in Paris this summer, she’d likely be building her own beauty empire.

Actually, she already is.

“I’ve always loved beauty,” Mason, 25, tells Allure. “Skin, lashes, hair, nails—I'm obsessed. So I became a licensed esthetician.” She earned her certification last December, adding “professional skin expert” to a résumé already packed with medals and records.

👯‍♀️ Team Trade: Beauty for Beauty

In between Olympic training sessions and international travel, Mason keeps her beauty skills sharp—by offering lash services to teammates. “We trade!” she laughs. “Two of the girls do my hair and nails every few weeks, and I do their lashes. It’s a beauty barter system.”

Despite a packed training schedule, Mason refuses to compromise on self-care. “Wednesdays are my no-practice, all glam days,” she says. “That time is sacred.”

💇‍♀️ Hair: Braids Over Blowouts

A Florida-based athlete, Mason has learned to adapt her hair routine to the climate—and her daily grind. “Humidity has made me a braids girl,” she admits. “I used to love wigs and sew-ins, but now, I need convenience.”

Wash days are long and rare. “I use a clarifying shampoo, deep conditioner, and then blow dry. My hair’s so thick, it takes forever,” she says. Her go-to? The Hair Essentials Kit from Forever Fine Collection, a Detroit-based stylist she found on Instagram.

Skin: The Esthetician Treatment—By Herself, for Herself

Mason has oily skin and a philosophy that beauty doesn’t have to be complex to be effective. “Less is more,” she says. But that doesn’t mean she cuts corners. She double cleanses every night using La Roche-Posay cleansers and hydrates in the morning with Vichy serums she discovered on a Paris pharmacy run.

“I do nano-infusion facials monthly. I dermaplane, I don’t extract unless I really need to, and I love the A313 cream—it clears up pimples overnight.” Her post-practice go-to cleanser? Yours Cloud Factory—“it smells so good and makes my skin feel crazy clean.”

Yes, she does her own facials. “People are always surprised,” she says. “But now I have the skill—and I don’t play about my skin.”

💄 Makeup: Track-Ready Soft Glam

Even at full speed, Mason’s makeup doesn’t miss. “I’m a soft-glam girl every day, even on the track,” she says.

Her foundation holy grail is Morphe Filter Effect in shade 32—the only one that truly matches her skin tone. She combines Too Faced Born This Way concealers in Butterscotch and Chestnut for a perfect highlight and contour. For brows, she just carves them lightly with foundation.

Her makeup staples also include:

  • E.L.F Putty Primer or Milk Hydro Grip

  • Laura Mercier setting powders (Medium Deep and Honey)

  • Barb Blush Palette by KKAO Beauty

  • NYX Lip Liner in Espresso + Anastasia Beverly Hills gloss in Pure Hollywood

  • Urban Decay All Nighter or One/Size Setting Spray

“I love adding glitter or rhinestones to match our uniform,” she says. “I don’t really do eyeshadow, though. I rub my eyes too much. Not practical!”

🧴 Body: Hydration & High Standards

Mason is dedicated to skincare beyond her face. “I have eczema, so I stick to Dove Deep Moisture Body Wash. It’s the only thing that keeps me hydrated.”

Her lotion rotation:

  • Dove body lotions

  • EOS Body Lotion (“It’s $12 and my dad always tries to steal it”)

  • Bath & Body Works for everyday scent layering

  • Valentino Donna Born in Roma Coral Fantasy for non-gym days

When training, she uses lighter sprays. “I still want to smell good, but I’m not using my fancy stuff to go sprint in.”

💅 Nails: Builder Gel Over Acrylics

Mason used to be a full acrylics girl—but the demands of sport made her shift to more natural builder gel on her own nails. “It’s gentler and still strong. For the Games, I did red, white, and blue—and it was a hit.”

💬 “Beauty is part of my performance. When I look good, I feel good—and I run better.”

In a world that still separates beauty from strength, Mason’s presence at the 2024 Paralympics is a statement. You don’t have to choose. You can sprint, sweat, sparkle—and win.
