Drag Race Star Bosco Engaged to Longtime Partner After Surprise Onstage Proposal
RuPaul’s Drag Race star Bosco is officially engaged to her partner of six years, Blake, following a touching onstage proposal that took place during a live performance in Seattle. The announcement has captured the attention and hearts of fans across the LGBTQ+ community and the Drag Race fandom.
A Surprise Proposal During Performance
Bosco, known for her sharp wit and fashion-forward drag, was performing over the weekend at Grindhaus, a Seattle-based drag and performance art showcase. What started as a regular show turned into a life-changing moment when her partner, Blake, surprised her onstage with a heartfelt proposal.
In a video shared by fans on Reddit, Blake is seen taking the mic during the event. He spoke candidly about their relationship, which has spanned six years and endured significant challenges, including the global pandemic and the intense pressure of reality television.
"Through all that, I got the best friend I could ever ask for, the best partner I could ever ask for," Blake told the audience before asking Bosco to marry him.
The crowd erupted into cheers as Blake got down on one knee and popped the question. Bosco said yes.
Celebrating Love on Instagram
Shortly after the proposal, Bosco took to Instagram to share the happy news with fans. She posted a carousel of photos featuring a close-up of her engagement ring, a celebratory champagne pour, and even a humorous screenshot of a Google search about which hand a wedding ring goes on.
The announcement was quickly met with love and support from fellow Drag Race queens and fans. Comments came pouring in from high-profile queens including Shea Couleé, Kylie Sonique Love, Daya Betty, Raja, and Nymphia Wind. Many of Bosco’s fellow Season 14 sisters also celebrated the moment, including Lady Camden, Deja Skye, and Kerri Colby.
Daya Betty, who competed with Bosco on both Season 14 and All Stars 10, commented:
“I’m so happy for you two.”
Bosco’s Rise Through the Drag Race Ranks
Bosco originally competed on Season 14 of RuPaul’s Drag Race, making it all the way to the finals. She returned for All Stars 10, a tournament-style season that featured returning fan favorites. Bosco advanced to the semifinals alongside Aja (Season 9) and Irene the Alien (Season 15), ultimately making it to the top 4. She was later eliminated by Ginger Minj, who won the season after a high-energy lip sync to Pink’s “Raise Your Glass.”
Love is in the Air for Drag Race Royalty
Bosco isn't the only queen making headlines for love this month.
Sasha Colby, the winner of Season 15 and one of the most celebrated queens in Drag Race herstory, recently shared glimpses of her relationship with Le Carr, a Seattle-based fitness instructor. In her Instagram stories, Colby called him the “best partner I’ve ever had,” and thanked him for showing her “what real love is.” Sasha came out as polyamorous earlier this year and has been open about embracing authentic love and connection.
Additionally, All Stars 4 winner Monét X Change announced her engagement to partner Andy Short just weeks prior. Sharing the news on Instagram with the caption “Locked in,” Monét joined the growing list of Drag Race alumni stepping into new chapters of love.
A Joyous Moment for the Drag Community
Bosco’s engagement is a bright spot in what has been a celebratory season for many Drag Race queens. As more members of the drag and LGBTQ+ community embrace public love stories and milestones, fans continue to rally around them with enthusiasm and support.
With wedding bells on the horizon, Bosco and Blake are officially embarking on their next big adventure—together.
