Lisa’s On-Stage Style Revolution: Inside the Making of Her Global Tour Looks

Blackpink’s Lisa is back where she belongs — on stage, dazzling global audiences with her unmatched charisma, electrifying energy, and jaw-dropping fashion moments. As the group’s world tour continues through Asia following its North American and European runs, fans have been treated not only to unforgettable performances but also to a masterclass in concert couture.

Behind Lisa’s impeccable looks are her creative stylists, Brett Alan Nelson and Nan Nist, who have transformed each show into a visual narrative of fashion and performance. In an exclusive interview, the duo reveals the inspirations, collaborations, and custom craftsmanship that went into creating the pop icon’s tour wardrobe.

A Rockstar Vision: Brett Alan Nelson on Designing for Lisa’s U.S. and European Tour

Brett Alan Nelson, who previously styled Lisa for her viral Coachella performance, returned to create the looks for her U.S. and European tour legs. For Nelson, the goal was clear — to merge Lisa’s fierce stage persona with luxury fashion’s most innovative brands.

“I wanted every look to feel rockstar,” Nelson says. “Lisa has such strong brand relationships, and I wanted each designer to have their own rockstar moment too.”

From Louis Vuitton monogram sets in Los Angeles to crystal-encrusted Giuseppe di Morabito ensembles in Chicago, Nelson curated a wardrobe that blended glamour with edge. For her European shows, he partnered with Off-White under IB Kamara’s direction to create custom pieces that were unlike anything fans had seen Lisa wear before.

“They added intricate details — subtle logos, texture, and stitching — that made each piece feel unique but true to the Off-White aesthetic,” he explains.

One of the standout moments came when Lisa’s love for Ferrari inspired a custom creation from the Italian brand. “She wanted something that made her feel like a ‘little red hot Ferrari,’” Nelson shares. “They designed a shiny vinyl belt with the iconic logo, which became one of the tour’s statement pieces.”

The Viral Labubu Moment

Among the many viral fashion moments of the tour, Lisa’s Labubu-inspired costume became an instant sensation. The look was born from an inside joke during fittings but quickly evolved into a fan-favorite showpiece.

“Lisa is the queen of Labubu,” Nelson laughs. “She was one of the first to post them online, and people went crazy. I joked about turning her into one for the last night of my run — her eyes lit up instantly.”

The idea quickly materialized with help from Muto Little, a renowned Los Angeles costume studio known for film and television work since the 1980s. The team crafted a playful pink ensemble — part costume, part couture — complete with a matching custom Labubu toy designed by Marco Monroe, who famously collaborates with Lady Gaga.

To take it further, Nelson enlisted Chris Ban to 3D-scan a Labubu face, creating custom sunglasses perfectly molded to Lisa’s features. The attention to detail was staggering — a testament to the stylists’ dedication and Lisa’s creative spirit.

Nan Nist on Lisa’s Solo Stage Looks and the ‘Alter Ego’ Aesthetic

As Lisa transitioned to the Asian leg of the tour, Nan Nist took over the creative reins, focusing on stage looks inspired by Lisa’s Alter Ego album. Each outfit, Nist explains, embodies a different side of the superstar’s personality.

“Every look represents a new facet of Lisa’s character,” says Nist. “We’ve been experimenting with materials, working with innovative designers, and incorporating Lisa’s personal ideas. She’s very hands-on, which makes the process special.”

For her solo stage performances, Nist aimed to capture both Lisa’s strength and playfulness — a mix of high fashion and high energy that has become her signature.

“Every look is meaningful,” she adds. “Each outfit tells its own story — not just for Lisa, but for the fans who travel the world to see her.”

The Asia Tour: A Celebration of Lisa’s Roots

The Asia leg of the tour is particularly meaningful for Lisa, who hails from Thailand. According to Nist, her homecoming performances in Bangkok will feature an evolving wardrobe narrative over three nights, each building upon the last to reflect Lisa’s journey and identity.

“Bangkok will be extra special,” Nist reveals. “We designed a three-day sequence of looks that evolve together — it’s almost like watching a visual story unfold.”

The tour kicked off in Taiwan with a playful, high-energy ensemble that set the tone for the performances to come. Lisa wore a custom look from Fanci Club, a brand known for its youthful and bold designs.

“We wanted something that matched Lisa’s ‘speedy’ energy,” Nist says. “The look was sporty yet glamorous, with pops of color and sparkling accents.”

The outfit was completed with a pair of Empty Behavior boots, inspired by the structure of boxing and motorsport footwear — combining utility with high fashion.

The Art of the Tour Look

For Lisa, fashion is an extension of performance. Each look — whether it’s a Louis Vuitton monogram set, an Off-White custom piece, or a hand-crafted costume — reflects her evolution as both a global artist and style icon.

Her stylists agree that the secret lies in collaboration, authenticity, and a willingness to take risks.

“Lisa doesn’t just wear the clothes — she brings them to life,” Nelson says. “That’s what makes every look unforgettable.”

A Global Pop Star, A Global Fashion Force

As Blackpink’s world tour continues across Asia, Lisa’s wardrobe remains a central part of the spectacle. With every city, she redefines what it means to be both a performer and a fashion innovator.

Whether she’s dazzling in Paris couture, transforming into a viral character, or celebrating her Thai roots on stage, Lisa continues to prove that she’s not just a K-pop icon — she’s a global fashion phenomenon.
