Job Overview:

Mingde College, a respected post-secondary institution located in Richmond, British Columbia, is seeking a qualified College Teacher to join their academic team. The College Teacher will play a key role in delivering engaging and innovative lessons, mentoring students, and evaluating academic progress. As part of the dynamic faculty team, you will contribute to the academic and personal development of students while fostering a positive and collaborative learning environment. All duties for this position must be performed at the college’s physical campus in Richmond, BC — remote work is not an option.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching and Lecturing: Prepare and deliver high-quality lectures and classroom presentations to students in your field of expertise. Engage students in discussions, seminars, and other interactive learning activities.
  • Course and Lesson Plan Development: Develop comprehensive course materials, lesson plans, and outlines that align with the college's curriculum. Ensure that all instructional materials are up-to-date and relevant.
  • Mentorship and Student Support: Mentor students by providing guidance on academic performance, career pathways, and personal development. Advise students on program selection, curriculum planning, and course progression.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Design, administer, and grade tests, assignments, and exams. Continuously evaluate students’ progress and provide constructive feedback to help them improve academically.
  • Program and Course Development: Contribute to the development of new academic programs and course content, ensuring that courses reflect industry trends and meet the needs of the students.
  • Academic Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date academic records for all students, prepare progress reports, and participate in course evaluations to assess and improve teaching practices.

  • Collaboration: Work collaboratively with colleagues, including teaching assistants, to ensure the smooth running of courses and programs. Participate in academic committees and contribute to the growth of the institution.


Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Education: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study is required. Additional qualifications or certifications may be an asset, but not mandatory.
  • Experience: Previous experience in a teaching or academic environment is considered an asset but is not a strict requirement. The college encourages recent graduates with a strong academic background to apply.

  • Language Requirements: The role requires proficiency in English, as this is the primary language of instruction.
