Key Responsibilities
As a Cashier, your duties will include:
- Operating a cash register and price scanner
- Processing payments including cash, cheques, and credit/debit cards
- Scanning items and calculating total purchases
- Receiving payment for goods and services
- Reconciling daily or shift payments with total sales
- Providing suggestive selling to enhance customer experience
- Greeting customers in a friendly and professional manner
- Wrapping or bagging merchandise
- Weighing produce and bulk food items
- Stocking shelves and maintaining a clean counter area
- Monitoring store entrances and exits and requesting proof of payment when required
- Participating in promotional and in-store marketing activities
- Verifying customer age when selling lottery tickets, alcohol, or tobacco products
Computer and Technology Skills
- Familiarity with price scanners and basic retail technology

- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent oral communication skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced retail environment
